INTRODUCTION
In 2021, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources Malaysia (KeTSA) set a target to achieve a 31% share of RE in the national installed capacity mix by 2025.
This target supports Malaysia's global climate commitment to reduce the carbon intensity of the entire economy (compared to GDP) by 45 per cent by 2030 compared to 2005 levels.
Realizing the Government's vision is crucial in supporting the country to achieve the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) target.
The Malaysia Renewable Energy Roadmap (MyRER) is tasked with supporting the decarbonization of the electricity sector in Malaysia through the achievement of 2035.
This is expected to drive a reduction in GHG emissions in the energy sector to support Malaysia in meeting the NDC 2030 target of reducing the intensity of GHG emissions per unit of GDP by 2030 compared to 2005 levels, and a further reduction of 60 per cent by 2035.
Aware of the government's desire and the prevailing trends we also intend to participate in this industry to support the government's Intent.
